What better way to spend another fabulous weekend then fishing? It was Miranda's first time fishing and I think Matilda's second time. Matilda lasted much longer then Miranda, who would rather be climbing or getting into something she shouldn't be. Regardless, they both LOVED the Barbie fishing pole (and I think secretly Matt liked it too). I think both girls even touched the worms (but wouldn't pick them up). They also spent a lot of time telling each other to "leave nature alone" (i.e. don't kill the bugs) and climbing up and down the embankment (much to Daddy's displeasure). Let's hope these wonderful weekends don't stop anytime soon!

A Few Good Weekends
First there was Mother's Day weekend. I enjoyed sleeping in and catching up on some of our picture organizing (although there is still much more organizing to do).
The following weekend we celebrated Matt's 40th birthday. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, so he didn't get his round of golf in, but he still seemed to enjoy his party.
Then there was this past weekend, which was almost perfect. Mother Nature finally took pity on us and blessed us with picture-perfect weather. We enjoyed the zoo, the ice cream stand, skipping stones in a creek, exploring deer tracks, a BBQ cook-off festival (which included face painting), staying up a little too late and sleeping in (but not long enough in my opinion). The only little hiccup in the weekend was when Miranda started not feeling well. Not sure what exactly was (is) up, but you know when she doesn't want to play in a bounce house or eat ice cream, something is definitely wrong. Hopefully, it will turn out to be nothing but I have to admit I held my breath every time my phone rang today thinking it would be her school asking me to come pick her up.

Toothless
And over night Matilda gained enough courage to have her other front top tooth pulled, so the tooth fairy will be visiting again tonight!

A Wizard, Ponies and a Lost Tooth
The past three days have been filled with excitement. On Sunday, we went to see the Wizard of Oz ballet. It was Miranda's first ballet show and she did amazingly well. I think I was more restless than she was (I missed the movie music, had the ballet been set to that I think I would have done better). The girls not only loved the ballet, but also their souvenir masks of the main characters. I have to admit, I am shocked by how entertained the girls are by the masks.
The next day brought the most amazing hoodie EVER! I mean, check out the pictures, have you ever seen such a cool hoodie? It even has wings!!!
And that brings us to tonight, when Matilda FINALLY let me pull her loose tooth. I have been trying for days to pull it, but as soon as I would put a finger in her mouth, she would scream that it hurt. Therefore, I was very surprised to return home this evening to find her trying to pull the tooth (despite the blood). So, after a few minutes of stalling and opening and quickly closing her mouth, I was finally able to pull the tooth. The one right next it is ready to come out too, but Tilda wasn't quite up to this evening. The best part of the whole thing was when Miranda told Tilda she was talking funny because she was missing her tooth!

Easter Fun
I am happy to report that Easter was a beautiful day (especially the weather!). The girls had tons of fun decorating eggs the day before and then finding the eggs and their baskets Easter morning. Miranda was especially happy, as she absolutely LOVES to watch "egg surprise" on You Tube (videos of someone opening random plastic eggs with little toys inside - the videos will entertain her for hours!?!?!) and she received a few eggs similar to the ones in the videos.

Amazing
After a fabulously good example set by her big sister at the dentist, Miranda insisted on having her teeth cleaned too (much to everyone's surprise). She did amazing (just like her big sister)! I find it a little strange that the girls love the dentist so much (well, not really since they let the girls walk around like they own the place and give them enough stickers to cover a wall), but I am definitely not complaining!

Yikes!
I have no idea where the time went! I am thankful to report that March was a relatively quiet month for us. The girls continued to be obsessed with Frozen (which seems very applicable since it still isn't warm here on a consistent basis - Matilda has even shed a few tears over spring not being spring). Matilda was named "Bucket Filler of the Month" (or something like that), which is the equivalent of Student of the Month. She now gets to wear a sash every day at lunch and recess for the remainder of the year, which is apparently a very cool thing to do. Miranda continues to assert her independence one minute (climbing on the counter and making her breakfast bagel on her own) then claiming she doesn't know how to do something (like eat with a fork) the next minute.
