Hearts, Ice, Ballet and (More) Snow

That would just about sum up the last few days.  Valentine's Day was lots of fun for the girls.  Both came home with a ridiculous amount of candy and other small objects (stamps, stickers, pencils, etc.).  That evening we celebrated the holiday by heading out to an ice festival.  While not nearly as impressive as Matt and I were hoping, the girls loved it and wanted to stay longer.  On Saturday, it was observation day at ballet.  It appears that Miranda is not quite the show-person her sister is, as she sat out most of the class.  Thankfully she finally decided to participate and we got a few fun videos (like the one above).  And to add to the fun of a long weekend, it was extended by yet another snow day.  While we had lots of fun, I am really hoping this is the last one for the year!

Six Years Old!

Our little Matilda is no longer that little!  By all accounts, it was a good 6th birthday.  She got to wear her birthday crown that she made with her dad in the beginning of school year all day at school.  Her teacher even let her stand on a chair while the class sang "Happy Birthday" to her (apparently this is very exciting when you are turning 6).  Then to top the day off, she got to pick the restaurant for her birthday dinner.  A few days later, she had her 6th birthday party.  She surprised us by picking a monkey theme (Frozen birthday supplies are IMPOSSIBLE to find otherwise that would have been the theme).  I have to admit I did enjoy the monkeys compared to the standard Hello Kitty or Princesses or My Little Pony.  Our Matilda is sure growing up fast!
