More Ice

What better way to get out of the house and relieve some cabin fever than with a hockey game?  Much to the surprise of Matt and me, the girls loved their first hockey game.  Trying to explain why the players kept fighting was somewhat of a challenge, but I think we will be able to use the penalty box to our advantage when the girls start to misbehave.  :)
(And nice job by Miranda photo-bombing her sister's pic with a hot dog!)

Royal Treatment

And if there was any doubt in Matilda and Miranda's minds that they were princess, it was all erased when they got to go to Disney on Ice in a limo.  Needless to say, they absolutely loved it.  In fact, the limo may have been more exciting than the show itself (and I have to admit, it was nice not having to drive in construction and traffic).

And in other slightly less regal news, Miranda has moved up into the next room at school - she is officially a preschooler!  As always, so hard to believe how quickly princesses grow up!

Odd

So, I finally got around to downloading the Christmas pictures, only to realize there really were not too many to download, which is unusual for us (ok, admittedly just me).  However, the family was able to continue the absolutely fabulous tradition of someone being sick for the holiday.  This year Matilda started off our holiday celebrations by vomiting (in the car) as soon as we arrived at our first party.  Thankfully, the party was on Sunday and by Christmas Eve she was fine and even more important, no one else in the family got it (I had visions of vomiting rather than sugar plums dancing in my head the night before Christmas).  So, overall it was a wonderful Christmas.  :)

Since then the girls have been enjoying their presents and winter break.  Miranda got to ride her bike outside a few days after Christmas and did surprising well.  We have played about a million games of Uno (who knew that would be the big hit of the holiday?!?!).  The girls have seen the movie Frozen a combined total of 7 times and the soundtrack is constantly playing in our house and we have to wrestle the girls out of their Frozen pjs to wash them.  Although, given the past few days, it seems quite appropriate to be surround with all this Frozen stuff as we have had 3 snow days to stretch out the winter break.  Turns out, Mommy pulls out all the crazy things she would not normally have out during snows days, including play dough and fingerprints.  While quite messy, it was a lot of fun.  I have to admit I really enjoyed having a few snow days too!
