Princesses Everywhere!
As you may have guessed, our trip to Disney World was filled with princesses! The two biggest princesses where the girls themselves - everyone there called them a princess. We think they may need rehab from the withdrawal they are suffering from not being addressed as princess by everyone they see. One of our greatest accomplishments was getting the autograph of ALL the princesses (okay, technically Elsa is a queen, but close enough) and if you happen to notice we missed one, please do not tell me as then our trip will be an utter failure ;)

Shock
And here it was what utter shock looks like...
Not quite the reaction we were expecting, but we will take it (it was 2:30 in the morning). :) Stay tuned for LOTS of pictures from our trip!

I'm so frustrated!
To quote our Miranda, "I'm so frustrated!" I was attempting to connect and transfer pictures from our new camera to my computer via the Wi Fi, but did not have much luck. :p Hopefully I will figure it out another night when the girls are asleep (that was probably my first mistake - trying to figure it all out while the girls were still awake).
We had a wonderful, somewhat busy holiday weekend. I would guess the highlight for the girls was getting their Munchkin costumes for their Wizard of Oz performance in December. I know I am biased, but they really do have the cutest costumes of all the munchkins! Well, it's off to give the girls baths and try to get them to fall asleep before midnight (the joys of being back in school!).

First Days of School
The girls are both officially back in school! So far, so good (granted it has been less then a week for Matilda and only 2 days for Miranda). Lots of people seem to think I should be happy they are back in school, but this is not the case. Summer life is soooooo much easier! No need to get up early and get dressed right away, no homework (which hasn't started yet, but I am already dreading), no need to really worry about bedtimes, and no lunches to be made late at night! I suppose if I was a stay at home mom I might feel differently, but as it stands right now, I wish school wasn't here already!

What the Heck?!?!
I can't believe summer is over and I didn't write one post all summer long (although based on the weather, I do not believe there was a summer this year)! Looking back, it was a busy, wonderful summer; filled with all sorts of excitement such as: fairs, face painting, fireworks, trips to the zoo (complete with the opportunity to see a giraffe in labor - we actually saw the baby's leg coming out of the mommy - surprisingly there were not too many awkward questions), some lost teeth (Matilda, not Miranda), lots of swimming (Matilda has officially graduated to swimming without a flotation device), climbing trees, feeding horses, merry-go-rounds, golfing with Daddy (just Matilda, Miranda's not quite ready, neither is Daddy), ballet classes, hiking in the woods, arts and crafts, the annual trip up to Michigan (unfortunately we were not able to stop in Ann Arbor this time, but we did make it to Bronner's!), a visit to the art museum (which both girls enjoyed and behaved very well, they didn't touch a thing!), an obsession with getting a bunny (Matilda's obsession, which will not be fulfilled any time soon), sleepovers and of course Frozen! Here's some pictures of the fun times:

All Done!
Last week the girls celebrated their last days of school (Miranda's last day was "beach day," which was an added bonus). Both girls are looking forward to summer fun. They have already been swimming, climbing, walking in the forest, saw tadpoles and a deer (and that was only the first summer weekend!). Not sure if Matilda quite grasps that summer break lasts more than few days, as every day she has asked to do a TON of things. We keep telling her not to worry, there is time (but of course summer is NEVER long enough!). (And many years from now I will owe Tilda an apology for waking her up to take this last day of school picture.)

Gone Fishin
What better way to spend another fabulous weekend then fishing? It was Miranda's first time fishing and I think Matilda's second time. Matilda lasted much longer then Miranda, who would rather be climbing or getting into something she shouldn't be. Regardless, they both LOVED the Barbie fishing pole (and I think secretly Matt liked it too). I think both girls even touched the worms (but wouldn't pick them up). They also spent a lot of time telling each other to "leave nature alone" (i.e. don't kill the bugs) and climbing up and down the embankment (much to Daddy's displeasure). Let's hope these wonderful weekends don't stop anytime soon!

A Few Good Weekends
First there was Mother's Day weekend. I enjoyed sleeping in and catching up on some of our picture organizing (although there is still much more organizing to do).
The following weekend we celebrated Matt's 40th birthday. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, so he didn't get his round of golf in, but he still seemed to enjoy his party.
Then there was this past weekend, which was almost perfect. Mother Nature finally took pity on us and blessed us with picture-perfect weather. We enjoyed the zoo, the ice cream stand, skipping stones in a creek, exploring deer tracks, a BBQ cook-off festival (which included face painting), staying up a little too late and sleeping in (but not long enough in my opinion). The only little hiccup in the weekend was when Miranda started not feeling well. Not sure what exactly was (is) up, but you know when she doesn't want to play in a bounce house or eat ice cream, something is definitely wrong. Hopefully, it will turn out to be nothing but I have to admit I held my breath every time my phone rang today thinking it would be her school asking me to come pick her up.
