First Days of School!

I am happy to report we have thus far survived the first few days of school!  Miranda started on Monday.  She really seems to be enjoying school and her teachers report that she has wonderful days.  Unfortunately, we can't say the same for the evenings at home.  Not sure if its the adjusting, or her just being 2 and half, but she has been a HUGE challenge at night.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that whatever the reason, it passes quickly because I am not sure the rest of the family can take much more!

Matilda had her Kindergarten orientation on Tuesday and her first full day on Wednesday!  Thus far she LOVES Kindergarten, with the bus ride being the best part.  I find it so strange not to be able to call and check on her during the day like I can Miranda and I am amazed at how many papers they sent home on the first day (even after giving us papers to read at every meeting prior to the start of school)!  Who really has time to read all that stuff?!?  Here's hoping that things continue to go well next week, when both girls have to be dropped off at school in the morning and I have to be at work!

Summer Wrap-up

The end of summer was a crazy, whirlwind time!  As is life, some of the events were sad, while others were wonderful...let's focus on the wonderful ones!  The girls had fun wearing my wedding crown when I dug it out from storage while looking for something else.  They even sat and watched some of our wedding video.  Matilda was so enthralled by it, she used her LeapPad to record the TV while the video was playing!

Our last summer hurrah at Olgebay was lots of fun with swimming, a zoo, put-putting, paddle boats, and (the highlight) horse and pony rides!  Matilda LOVED her horse ride right from the beginning, while Miranda wasn't too sure about it at first.

Both girls are eager to start school this week.  I'm just not sure Mommy & Daddy are ready (which I am sure will not be the case once the girls get a little older).  Matilda is especially looking forward to riding the bus, which tells you that she has obviously never ridden one before, as I personally think school busses smell worse than the horses they rode!
