Sunny Days
Last week we took a family vacation to Williamsburg. While the rides there and back were long, the girls did relatively well (thank goodness for portable DVD players). We had fun times swimming, eating out (not really, Miranda doesn't like to sit still for more than 5 minutes at a restaurant), put-putting and playing at playgrounds. However, the highlight of the trip was our visit to Busch Gardens where we had lunch with Elmo and Friends. Tilda was in heaven! Not only did the buffet include chicken fingers, mac and cheese, and cheese sticks, but she got to hug (and hug and hug again) Elmo and his friends. Miranda was a bit hesitant to interact with the characters, but eventually warmed up and gave some high-fives and touched some noses. On the way home, we unexpectedly ended up at the USMC Museum, which lead to some nice photo opts. Poor Matt could have spent the day there, but alas, we had to get back on the road so he didn't get to see too much. All in all, it was a wonderful (but tiring) trip.

Back on the Bike
We finally "dusted" (read had to scrub) off the bike trailer for Matt and the girls. Things went much better this time than when we first tried it with Matilda way back when. Both girls loved it! Miranda had so much fun she didn't want to get out or let her sister join her. Perhaps I will break down and get a bike so I can join them, or perhaps I will just stay home and enjoy the quiet while they are out on their rides.
