Friday Miranda had her 18 months well-check and here are the stats: 31.25 inches - 35th %ile, 22 lb 10 oz - 23rd %ile. Lately she has been quite ornery and very "determined" (I think this sounds better than stubborn). Not sure if she's harboring resentment at Matt & me for leaving her for a whole weekend or if it's the frustration of not being able to do all the things Tilda can do (which is her new mission in life). She is definitely one independent little lady who cannot be easily distracted once she has made up her mind. While we might find this personality trait to be a tad bit frustration right now, I am sure that when she's out in the real world, it will serve her well.

New Addition, Honky-Tonks and a Party
This sums up the past three weekends for our family...On Mother's Day we welcomed a new addition to the family, a 4 month old beagle/boston terrier! :) After vetoing Matilda's first two name choices (Rainbow and Flower), she vetoed Matt's suggestion (Zoe) and we all finally agreed upon on a name for the pup...Blue. The girls absolutely love Blue, usually. They are still adjusting to having a puppy and really don't enjoy when Blue jumps up on them which has resulted in the girls spending a lot of time on the couches, out of Blue's reach. And at the rate she is going, I'm wondering who will be "potty" trained first, Blue or Miranda (who we haven't even started training). (We also celebrated Matt's birthday, so I'm not sure if Blue was a Mother's Day or birthday present.)
The following weekend, Matt & I headed to Nashville for a wedding. I have to admit that the little bit of Nashville we got to see was a lot of fun (I'm pretty sure I spent more time drunk than sober the entire weekend). :)
And finally, this weekend was Matt's graduation party. I'm pretty sure the highlight of the party was the amazing cake my cousin made! I can barely frost cupcakes, so I am utterly astounded by the cake she created. Thankfully, the weather cooperated for the party. The rain missed us and I don't think it was quite as hot as they were predicting. The whole family seemed to really enjoy themselves. All I know is that as wonderful as these past weekends have been, I am really looking forward to next weekend when we have nothing (as of right now) planned. :)
