Talk, Talk, Talk

Over the past few weeks, Miranda has turned into the quite the talker.  There aren't many words that she can't repeat (but thankfully she has yet to repeat any "grown up" words).  Currently, her favorite words seem to be Elmo, eat, and no (oh how I regret reading her Moo, Baa, LaLaLa with its "no no" part).  In addition to being able to say almost anything, Miranda seems to be able to climb anything.  Every time we turn around, she's trying to climb up onto something she shouldn't.  We definitely have our hands full with this one!

Another Holiday, Another Illness

So Matilda was the lucky one to carry on the newest Smith Tradition of having at least one member of the family sick during a holiday.  Thankfully, it was only a stuffy/running nose (for now).  Tilda's nose aside, it was a busy, but enjoyable holiday weekend.  The whole family enjoyed dying the Easter eggs together.  And to our shock & amazement, Tilda actually liked the hard-boiled egg when she tried it (although only the white part).  The girls had lots of fun finding Easter eggs and their baskets.  Note to Easter Bunny:  although hiding cereal in the plastic eggs is a bit more healthy, it greatly increases the time it takes to find the eggs as the girls would stop and eat all the cereal from each egg before going on to find the next (or maybe we should have fed them first).

Bunny Update

I'm happy to report that when the "Spring" Bunny (aka Easter Bunny) visited school today, Matilda did not freak out.  While she did not sit on his lap, she did go up and talk to him to tell him what she would like to find in her Easter basket.  I'm guessing her fear of not getting an Easter basket outweighed her of the Bunny.

Spring is in the Air

And with spring weather everyone comes outside...including the boys down the street!  The week before last, there was a knock at our door.  I looked out and saw the two younger boys from down the street on our doorstep.  When I opened the door, Matilda just about jumped out the door to go play with them.  Unfortunately, it was dinner time, not playtime.  This resulted in Matilda crying and begging the remainder of the night (and next few days) to go play with the boys.  Ah, neighbor boys, they sure are trouble. ;)  Yesterday Matilda asked if we could go see the Easter Bunny.  She went on and on about how she wasn't afraid any more (like "yesterday" (which is last year, but anything that happend in the past happened yesterday)) because she was 4 years old now.  Not so much.  After waiting and waiting in line, it was finally our turn to see the Bunny.  Of course Miranda wanted nothing to do with him, which was no surprise.  However, Matilda also freaked out and wouldn't let Matt put her down.  So alas, no picture with the Bunny for another year.
