St. Patrick's Day Fun

The whole family enjoyed one of the most beautiful St. Patrick's Days I can remember.  Matt & I REALLY enjoyed it, as the girls went to my cousin's for a sleepover (which is not a bad deal for them as a sleepover there usually involves walks, parks, baking and lots of new toys to play with, heck I may sleepover too next time!).  Now St. Patrick's Day is usually a pretty big deal around here, but add in unseasonably warm weather and I think EVERYONE in the area was out and about yesterday.  It made for lots of fun & some great people watching.  If only all St. Patrick's Days were this nice!

Really?

Does Miranda have ANOTHER ear infection?  Did the whole family come down with colds for the millionth time this winter?   Did the girls only last for about 10 minutes when we busted out the finger paints for the first time?   Is Miranda saying "poop" but not Mommy or Daddy?  The answer to all these questions is Yes!  At least there is hope:  Matt is teaching Matilda to vacuum (which I hate doing) and the weather is supposed to be beautiful for the next week or so. :)

Doctors, Dentist, and Dinosaurs

Two weenkends ago, the girls both had their well-checks (Matilda's 4 year on Friday and Miranda's 15 month on Saturady, providing more evidence that I am NOT a good planner).  At any rate, both appointments went fine, well Tilda's went a little better since there were no shots involved.  The stats are:

Matilda Frances: 34 lbs 8 oz (46th %ile)
41.75 inches (87th %ile)
Miranda Mae: 21 lbs 10 oz (28th %ile)
30.5 inches (48th %ile)

Matilda then had the pleasure of her first real dentist appointment the following Tuesday.  I was shocked by how well she did.  There was no crying or whining the entire time.  She jumped right into the chair and sat still for the entire appointment!

Then this weekend we had fun times visiting the Museum of Natural History (which hasn't changed much through history as most of it was exactly as Matt & I remembered from our grade school days).  Matilda was mildly entertained by the exhibits and of course Miranda could really care less.  The highlight of the trip was the planetarium with the Sesame Street show (who doesn't love Big Bird, Elmo, stars and a Chinese Pig?).  Still, both girls were on their best behavior, which was quite shocking but made for an enjoyable trip.
