Nine Month Stats

Miranda had her 9 month well check last week. She weighed in at 17 lbs 12 oz (28th %ile) and was 27.50 inches long (44th %ile). The poor girl has had a rough couple of weeks. First it was the ear infections, then the teething started a few days later and finally she had 2 shots at her well check. Hopefully this week will be relatively pain free!

Weekend Trip

The weekend before last we took a short family trip to Columbus (mental note: change Hail to the Victors ring tone when in this city) to enjoy the zoo and a friend's 1st birthday party. The girls really seemed to enjoy the zoo, but if you ask Matilda what her favorite part was, it was not the animals, but rather the merry-go-round.

One would think a 3 year-old would sleep peacefully during a 2 and half hour ride home following a long day of playing with only a very short nap plus going to the zoo the previous day. Not so much. Matilda talked (mostly to herself) the ENTIRE ride home from Columbus! Thankfully she was entertained and there was no whining involved so I guess we can't complain. I guess the effects of the sugar from the suckers, cookies and cake outweighed the sleepiness from two days of playing non-stop!

Kitty-Cat Park and Ear Infections

Matilda, Matt and I had a wonderful time at the Memphis Kiddie Park, or the "kitty-cat park" as Matilda calls it. She was absolutely fearless and rode every ride, although she wouldn't hold her arms up for the roller coaster, because "that's too scary." And if you look closely at the 2nd roller coaster picture, you can see that I was actually ridding with Tilda, not the other little girl. Poor Miranda has ear infections again and had to stay home with her uncle. So the weekend was mixed with both good and bad times, as Miranda was pretty miserable (but does seem to like her medicine much more this time around). Hopefully she will be back to her usual self tomorrow, but I have to admit I did enjoy the extra snuggle time all weekend long.
