Happy Eastertime Today

Ok, so I'm a little late in posting the Easter pictures, but are we really surprised by this? "Happy Eastertime today" would be part of Matilda's version of Peter Cottontail, which was her favorite book leading up to Easter and for a few days after. I have to admit that this Easter was much more fun than previous ones, as Matilda really seemed to enjoy her Easter egg hunt, receiving chocolate, etc. this year. I also have to say that I am quite proud of Matt & me for not eating her candy this time around (yet).

Our Little Easter Ham

As you can see by these pics, Matilda is quite the ham these days. Not only is she a ham, but according to her school, she is potty trained and can officially start the preschool curriculum (as opposed to the pre-preschool curriculum she's in now)! I just hope they let her know that she's potty trained, because we still seem to be doing a lot of carpet cleaning here at home. And on an unrelated note, Matilda and I made cookies this past weekend and I would just like to say that for a health inspector, baking with a 3 year old is VERY challenging!

Five Months Old

Miranda has just turned 5 months old! She's getting really close to sitting all by herself and has almost mastered taking her pacifier out of her month and putting it back in. I just wish she would stop waking up a half-hour before we need to get up on the weekdays. I could really use that extra sleep!

Sharing

Like all good parents, we have always encouraged Matilda to share. However, we really wish that her friends at school had not shared their germs (eye infection & cold) which she then shared with Miranda who then shared the germs with Mommy & Daddy (we haven't gotten the eye infection yet and we're keeping our fingers crossed). The weekend was filled with eye drops (quite a challenge with a 3 year old), running noses, tissues and LOTS of hand washing. I think both Matt & I were actually looking forward to going back to work for a break. Thankfully, everyone seems to be getting better & the last of the eye drops should be given tonight.
