The Stats & A Small Miracle

Miranda finally had her 2 month well check this past Monday, here are the stats...
Weight: 12 lbs (68 %ile)
Length: 22.5 inches (43rd %ile)
Shots: 2
Overall she did very well at her appointment, nothing too exciting which is good!

The small miracle that occurred this past week is that I managed to be on time for work all 3 days my first week back! It will be interesting to see what happens this week when I work all five days. Hopefully, Matilda will have more good mornings at school like she did on Wednesday, which made the morning MUCH easier!

Soooooo Mad!

I was playing around with different templates for the blog & have lost the original layout! I am soooooo upset right now! Hopefully I can look at it later & fix things.

Don't Be Fooled

You would think by looking at this picture of Matilda on her first day of pre-preschool that she loves school. Alas, not so much. Her first day went wonderfully and of course was too good to be true. Her 2nd and 3rd days were trying for all of us (she only goes 3 days a week). Matilda is great at pulling at mommy & daddy's heartstrings with her constant "I don't want to go school," "I cry at school," "I want to stay home with you," and other such guilt inducing sentences. She even woke us up one night crying in bed about going to school (which made it very difficult to fall back asleep. Honestly, I'm in my 30s & loosing sleep over school!). Of course we know that this is all to be expected that eventually Matilda will love school as much as she did the first day, we're just hoping that day comes sooner rather than later!

Two Months Old

As always, it's so hard to believe that Miranda is already 2 months old! She unofficially weighs 13 lbs, but we'll get the official stats next week at her well check. Miranda has started to become quite the little chatter box. I have to admit that I'm jealous as she seems to have much more to say to her Daddy than me. She loves her baths and is starting to enjoy toys like her floor play mat. She seems to be most awake in the evening and after her late night feedings. Thankfully, even though she's awake she'll still lay down without much fuss after her middle of the night feeding. And an even bigger reason to be thankful, she's sleeping about 6 hours at night (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself!).

Space Ranger on Ice

Matilda had a wonderful time at Disney on Ice - Toy Story 3 last weekend, especially since she got to wear her "mermaid tail" and princess crown (which was quickly replaced by the Buzz Lightyear helmet).

Cliff's Notes

Here's the Cliff's Notes version of the past few weeks, which have been fun, but hectic!
  • Right before the holidays we went to the Columbus Zoo for their winter lights. Any other time Tilda is amazed by both zoo animals and Christmas lights, but apparently very cold weather dampens her enthusiasm for these things. Overall we still had a good time (as you can see by Miranda's picture (the stroller) she had an amazing time).
  • Surprisingly Tilda actually sat on Santa's lap. And although she played shy, she told him she wanted Snow White for Christmas.
  • Christmas was a lot of fun. While Matilda still didn't quite grasp the whole concept of Christmas, she did understand she would be getting presents, which included 7 Disney princess dolls (with 7 small crowns to keep track of), a dollhouse and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. As for Miranda, she spent most her first Christmas asleep.
  • Miranda had her one month well check. She weighed in at 11 lbs (75th %ile) and for some reason they didn't measure her length. She got one shot and was declared healthy.
  • Our New Year's celebration was relatively quiet, however Miranda was awake for this event as she seems to not want to fall back asleep right away after her late night feedings.
  • I miss our Christmas tree as it was the perfect lighting for late night feedings.
  • Matilda & I went to see Tangled, which really confused Matilda. She can't figure out why the princess didn't listen to her mother at the end. Try explaining a woman kidnapping a baby and not being the real mom to an almost 3 year old, not an easy task. Perhaps that's why it is was rated PG.
  • When I took Tilda to register for her pre-preschool, she had a complete break down in the owner's office when it was time to LEAVE. I'm not sure if this was a good sign that she's going to love going to school, but it was definitely embarrassing for me!
