First Pictures

On Thursday we got see the new baby for the first time at our ultrasound. All hands, feet, fingers and other major body parts are accounted for. As for whether the baby is a boy or a girl...we'll all be surprised the day baby decides to enter this world. It's hard to believe that we are already past the half-way mark for this pregnancy!
Speaking of first pictures, Matilda got to go see her first movie at the theater with mommy and daddy. We all thoroughly enjoyed Toy Story 3. Matilda was pretty much mesmerized and only moved to switch from her seat to my lap about half-way through the movie. Both Matt & I were impressed at how well she did.

Seven

I'm not sure if it is due to listening to the BNL song "7 8 9" too many times, but Matilda skips the number 7 when counting. Perhaps the song instilled a fear in her of 7 because it ate the number 9. I'm happy to say that Matt was able to enjoy a bit a free time golfing on Father's Day between studying and spending time with his crabby daughter who seems to have a gotten a cold which makes her very unhappy.

Watch Out for (Moving) Cars!

As responsible parents, Matt & I have begun to teach Matilda to look both ways for cars before crossing the street, walking across the parking lot, etc. The problem is that Matilda does not distinguish between parked and moving cars. So, when she sees a parked car any where in the area and we start to walk, she starts screaming and trying to turn back as if we were walking into on coming traffic! We're trying to change our wording to "Do you see any moving cars?" but so far the results are the same.

Movement & Itchiness

While I thought I was feeling baby move a few weeks ago, I am now positive that I can feel the little one moving around in there. Along with definite movement I have also started experiencing a very strange "symptom"...itchiness of my palms and soles of my feet! I'm quite certain that I did NOT have this with my last pregnancy and have to admit it is very annoying! Of course, if there is any truth to the old wives tale that an itchy palm means you'll be coming into money, we'll be rich by the end of the pregnancy (just hope that both palms itching doesn't cancel that out)!

Matilda had a good week. She ended up staying up late Friday and Saturday nights, so of course she got up extra early the following mornings. I don't really understand this phenomenon, but Matt & I have made a mental note that in hopes of sleeping in on the weekend, Matilda needs to go sleep earlier...maybe we'll put her to bed at 6 pm next weekend! ;)
