avoid getting sick too. So, while this past week wasn't much fun, the weekend was much better. Matilda & I went to her first Gymboree Play & Music class. I would sum it up as organized playing chaos, but Mattie seemed to enjoy herself. On Sunday we went to get Mattie's 2 year pictures taken (I can't believe she's going to be 2 already!). Once again, I think we (well mostly me) had sucker written across our foreheads, as we left with many more pictures than we had planned on (but of course they're all sooo cute)!

Parenting Badges
Matt & I earned another parenting badge this past weekend, as Matilda had her first stomach flu. I will spare you the gruesome details and just say we are so thankful it only lasted about 12 hours and Matilda now seems to be doing fine.
Matilda's New Bed
Over the past 2
weekends, Matilda has preferred to fall asleep on the rocking chair in her room rather then her bed. The plus side to this is that nap time has gone a little better. However, it can be tricky moving her to her bed without her waking up. I personally find it very amusing that the one time she did this at bedtime, she moved all her Elmos and babies to the chair with her.

2009 Wrap Up (aka Longest Post Ever)
While I would like to blame the fact that I haven't posted in a while on the craziness of the holidays or that Matt confiscated my computer when his broke, I think the real reason is that I got sucked (no pun intended :) ) into the Twilight series and now try to spend every free moment reading the books. So, here is how 2009 ended....

If you count getting your bangs trimmed, then Matilda got her first real haircut. Up until December Matt & I would try to trim her bangs, with little success. So I wasn't too surprised when both Matt & I had to try & hold her still for the haircut. While she didn't like that part, Mattie did thoroughly enjoy walking around the salon with her sucker after the haircut.

Matilda enjoyed a "Winter Wonderland" with her parents and grandparents. Although she wasn't too crazy about Santa and Rudolph (unlike her daddy). She loved the Frosty 3-D maze. I was shocked that she kept the glasses on through the whole maze. I wish I could get her to keep her hat & gloves on like that!

Christmas was a whole lot of fun. I mean could like get much better for an almost 2 year old? She got a bike, pony, house, computer, camera and tent! I think we need to build another addition just for all her presents! The picture below shows just how exhausted she was the day after Christmas.
And finally...right before the end of 2009, Matilda got to play in the snow for the first time with Daddy! I guess that concludes my longest post ever. I promise to try and not let my new found love of Edward the vampire keep me from posting on a regular basis!
