Fun Times

While Matilda doesn't always like to be in her exersaucer, she was absolutely loving it today! (Sorry about the orientation of the 2nd video, I didn't realize you can't turn the camera when recording a video.)

Random Thoughts

Matilda LOVES Elmo! I usually feel a tad guilty when we let Mattie watch TV, but the way she gets so excited when Elmo comes on, I can't help but turn on Sesame Street! Recently Mattie has started to grab things with her finger and thumb rather than her whole fist. She has also started to enjoy baby foods with more than one ingredient. I guess this means that it won't be too long before she starts getting some finger foods! She's still not crawling, but I don't think that's too far away, which means we should probably start baby proofing the house.

Road Trip

This past weekend Matilda went on her first road trip to Michigan to meet more of her family. Matt and I were both pleasantly surprised with how well she did sitting in her car seat for hours. She didn't get very fussy until we were almost to our destination (and when she was getting hungry, but that's nothing new). Overall it was a very nice trip and visit!

Seven Months Old

...And still not constantly sleeping through the night! Two weeks ago, after I wrote on the blog that I was hopeful that Mattie would keep sleeping through the night, she got up twice during the night! That whole week she continued to get up every night. The following week she slept through some nights and got up during others. So far this week she continued to keep us guessing as to whether or not she'll sleep through the night. I guess that's her job as a baby, to always keep us guessing! (The last picture shows how much fun Mattie has when Dad's feeding her!)

End of Summer Fun

Matilda had a lot of fun this past week, especially hanging out by the pool. I love to watch her try to figure things out. She gets this adorable look of total concentration on her face (as you can see above as she studies the menu at Olive Garden). We discovered that Matilda is frightened whenever mom yells at the TV, which means it is going to be a very long football season for us based upon the Michigan game this past Saturday.
