Sitting Pretty

Well, the last few weeks have been pretty crazy and hectic, so I haven't been able to update the blog until now (imagine that, life is hectic with a 6 month old!). But I'm sure I'll make up for it now...

Mattie has started to sit up by herself! She can't get herself up into a seated position, but if we set her down she'll usually sit by herself for a good amount of time. Although judging by the occasional face plants and falls backward, she hasn't completely gotten the hang of it.

Matilda has continued to enjoy eating new foods. She loved the sweet potatoes, didn't particularly care for the prunes (who could blame her?) and seemed indifferent about the bananas. I was surprised that she didn't like the bananas very much, maybe she'll like them more the second time around.

A few weeks ago, Mattie decided she no longer wanted to sleep through the night and would rather get up in the middle of the night to eat. I had just gotten used to having a full night of sleep when she made this decision. It's just like what a lot of moms have told me, once you think you've gotten things figured out, your baby changes things on you. I'm hopeful for this week though, as she has slept through the night all weekend.

Six Months Stats

Weight: 14 lbs 11oz (16th %ile)
Length: 26 1/2 inches (67th %ile)
Shots: 2
Books: 1
Matilda's 6 month well visit to the doctor went pretty well. We found out that her doctors are in a program to promote reading, so Mattie will get a new book at her well visits from now on (this time it was a farm animals book). We were also very lucky in that they got a new 3 in 1 shot so instead of 4 shots, Mattie got 2. She did much better all the way around with having only the 2 shots, which made her parents very happy.

Where's Mattie?

Picture Time

And just think, I was worried that from now on the only pictures we would have of Mattie would be her eating new foods (which were green beans this week)!
