Water Baby

Although I don't have any pictures of it, Matilda spent a lot of time swimming this week. She's really starting to enjoy it. It appears that she will soon be sitting up on her own. I thought she already did, but Matt tells me a few seconds with me right behind her doesn't count. I think Mattie read my post last week because she woke up Monday and last night for a middle of the night feeding!

Mind Your Peas

Matilda had her first vegetable today - peas! Since she didn't spit them back out at Matt (much), I'm guessing she actually liked them.

Catchin Up

Here's some of the highlights (and a few low lights) from the past few weeks:

The Fourth of July weekend basically stunk! Matt was away the whole weekend working on a fireworks show in Alabama, so of course I got sick. Thankfully, Mattie didn't get too sick. She just a had a little cough and few sneezes. However, this little cough was usually followed by silent gagging, which was really scary. The one bright spot was when we went to watch fireworks, Mattie seemed to enjoy them. She didn't even cry!

Matilda also went swimming for the first time. At first she didn't like it much, but after a minute or two she started to enjoy it. Hopefully she'll start splashing soon instead of just keeping her arms at her sides.

Mattie's really starting to pay attention to the kitties. Much to the kitties' dismay, Matilda loves to "pet" them (which is really her grabbing fist fulls of their fur and not letting go).

This past week Mattie actually slept through the nights! While I love getting the sleep, I do miss the middle of the night feedings a little bit. I really enjoyed that bonding time when there was nothing else to worry about.

On a more personal note, I'm very proud of myself - I used the nail clippers on Matilda for the first time today and didn't cut her!
