Starting to Sit

Now that Mattie has more control, she's starting to sit with some help for short periods of time. This led us to put together her activity saucer (or whatever you want to call it). She really seems to enjoy all the stuff there is to do on it.

Yum!

Matilda got her first taste of "solid" food last night. We're not sure if she liked it or not. She only had a few "bites," which were mostly her moving the cereal around in her mouth and then drooling it back out. She sure does seem to like the ketchup bottle though! Mattie also seemed to enjoy her first theater experience - Aunt Lisa's play.

Who Needs Toys?

I ponder this question as these days Matilda seems to be very interested in her own feet, other people's hands, the paper on the doctor's exam table, and just about anything that makes a crinkle noise!

The Latest Stats

Today was Matilda's four month check up. She weighed in at 12.5 lbs (13th percentile) and 24.75 inches (60th percentile). Looks like she got dad's height along with his eyes! And of course there was crying when she received her 4 shots. Thankfully, she wasn't too fussy in the evening until her Tylenol wore off.
Over the weekend we tried mommy & baby yoga again. Judging by her spitting up all over me a few times while I was doing the yoga, she doesn't care much for that part, but she was all smiles during the baby yoga part.

Raspberries

Here's a little glimpse of one of Matilda's favorite things to do these days, blow raspberries!

Four Months Old

As Mattie grows older, her grip gets stronger. Matilda has really started to grab (and hold on) to things, such as her burp towel, any one's clothes, Matt's nose, and my hair. It looks like I won't be wearing earrings for much longer! Mattie continues to tease me by sleeping through some nights and waking up in the middle of others. It will be interesting to see how big she has gotten when we go to the doctor on Monday for her 4 month check-up. Too bad shots are going to be involved again!

Looking Back

It was a year ago today that Matt & I first found out that we were going to be parents. It's funny how these momentous events can seem like they happened only yesterday and at the same time seem like they happened years ago! Matilda continues to be a happy girl. Well, not counting yesterday. She was having such a bad afternoon that she & Matt had to come with me to work & stay in the car while I did my inspection. Hopefully, this will not be the case every time I have to work on a weekend!
