Party Girl

Matilda has been quite the party girl this weekend. She attended a wedding reception on Friday, a First Communion party on Sunday and will be going to a picnic later on today. I don't know who needs more time to recover--her or me! I'm hoping that the weather will finally cooperate and stay warm. Mattie has so many cute warm weather outfits to wear, but at the rate she's growing she won't fit into them for much longer!

Update

Just when we thought this week couldn't get more exciting, Mattie rolled over!!!!! Matt and I were getting her ready for her bath when she rolled over in front of us. She took this momentous milestone in stride. In fact she seemed pretty indifferent about suddenly being on her belly. She's definitely growing fast!

One Exciting Week

Mattie's exciting week started off on Monday with her uncles babysitting her while I went to the dentist. They all survived and I think they even had fun! Next was celebrating Matt's birthday. Mattie loved looking at the all the candles glowing on the cake and she almost made it through Matt's dinner at the restaurant without crying. More excitement came as it appears Matilda found her feet while in the car seat. She doesn't notice them when she's lying down, only when she's sitting in her car seat or bouncy seats. In addition to her feet, Mattie has become much more interested in the things around her in general. She has started to actually reach out and grab her toys (or Mom's mouth or clothes). Once she gets her hands on them, it's usually straight into her mouth for further exploring. And to end this exciting week, Uncle Jeffy has officially finished his time with the Marines! If the Cavs win game 7 tonight it will be one of the most exciting weeks ever!

I Love Mommy

...At least that's what Mattie's outfit said on Mother's Day. Matilda's present to me was sleeping till 5 am and letting me eat dinner without her crying (of course the next night she was up at 2 am and 4am and I had to hold her while eating dinner to keep her from crying, but what can you do?). Overall it was a very nice first Mother's Day.

On Friday Mattie made the big move from her cradle to the crib in the nursery. I was traumatized while Matt & Mattie were fine. I never realized I would have such mixed emotions as Mattie grows. On one hand it's so exciting to watch her develop and grow, but on the other hand it seems like it's all going way too fast and I want her to stop! I also never realized how tired I would be by Fridays now that I'm back to work. I think the fact that I was absolutely exhausted helped me to sleep and not completely break down with Mattie moving to her crib!

Two Weeks

The past two weeks have been very interesting as we all adjust to me returning to work. The one thing that is crystal clear is that there are not enough hours in the day! Overall the transition has not been too awful as I have yet to work a full week. Mattie has been doing her part by only waking up once a night and falling right back to sleep after eating.

Yesterday we took Matilda for her 3 month pictures. She did wonderful. I think in this case it may have been a bad thing that she behaved so well because there were way too many cute pictures to choose from!
